About the Community Partnership Against Violence
The Community Partnership Against Violence (CPAV) was created in 1997 as a part of the Provincial Government’s Family Violence Policy Framework. CPAV was formed as a network to bring together government, community-based organizations, and individuals working in the area of interpersonal violence and abuse in Regina. CPAV began as a networking roundtable where individuals could meet and share information on projects, programs, and obstacles faced in providing front line services to the citizens of Regina and surrounding area.
In 2001, we hosted the Peacemakers Breakfast , which has become an annual tradition. 2016 will mark the 15th Annual Peacemakers Breakfast.
Members of the CPAV Committee are: the Lifelong Learning Centre—University of Regina, Provincial Association of Transition Houses and Services of Saskatchewan (PATHS), Regina Transition House, YWCA Regina, SOFIA House, and independent community members.
CPAV relies on sponsorship and donations to support the cost of the breakfast. This allows tickets to be sold at a low cost, making the breakfast accessible to citizens of Regina.
