Disability Accessibly Information:
Some disabilities may be accommodated within some programs. Safe Shelter and Second Stage Housing accommodations are not wheelchair accessible. A support worker can stay in shelter, if needed, with client consent and confidentiality agreement in place and as long as space is available.
Programs and Services Offered:
Southwest Safe Shelter– emergency shelter (4-6 weeks) for women and dependent children leaving abusive situations
Genesis House – Second-Stage Housing – longer-term, secure subsidized housing for SWCS clients
24 Hour Crisis Line– support and referral for anyone experiencing a crisis situation
Women’s Outreach – one to one support, referral and practical assistance
Children’s Outreach – one to one support and referral for outreach and in-shelter children
Men’s Outreach – one to one support, referral and practical assistance
Violence Prevention Education – topical violence prevention education sessions to schools (K-12) and youth via community groups
Public Education – topical sessions on abuse, interpersonal violence, and agency services to adults
Career Closet– access to donated clothing for job interviews and special occasions
