Open letter from the National Association of Women and the Law has brought together a coalition of over 250 organizations across Canada. PATHS has signed on to help advocate for one of the most pressing issues that women face in the courts today: accusations of parental alienation.
October 2023- Submission to the Department of Justice Canada Regarding a Potential Coercive Control Offence in the Context of Intimate Relationships
Keira’s Law, Bill C-233 (An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Judges Act (violence against an intimate partner), which was introduced in the House of Commons as a private member’s bill in February 2022, passed third reading the Senate on April 18, 2023. PATHS has advocated for Keira’s law to pass, including meeting with Senators and MPs. Jo-Anne Dusel, PATHS Executive Director, was quoted during the third reading of the Bill.
