PATHS is pleased to announce that we have received $400 000 in funding for a new project here in Saskatchewan. The project title: Mapping impacts of intersecting identities on GBV survivors’ experiences with the legal system. This work will continue to take place over the next 2 years, ongoing from October 2023 to March 31, 2026. See news article HERE.
This project will explore the experiences of GBV survivors’ journey through the legal system in Saskatchewan with a focus on identifying differential impacts on survivors who hold intersecting identities that may have created barriers to appropriate service in the past. To do so, the project will include qualitative and quantitative research, including a survey, focus groups and one-on-one interviews with survivors. The research results will be shared widely throughout PATHS networks, presented to government policy makers, utilized to inform the work of PATHS member agencies, other GBV services, legal services, and to shape PATHS’ advocacy efforts. For more information or to participate in this research contact us at paths.research@sasktel.net
This project has been funded through Women and Gender Equality Canada’s Women’s Program.
Along with PATHS, sixteen other organizations in the Prairies were funded for projects to to prevent and address gender-based violence. Read about them HERE.
