New Training Dates Added!

This training will provide an overview of the dynamics of domestic violence in the context of separation, divorce, and child custody and access. All are welcome to attend. The training will take place over 4 mornings (8 am – 12 pm Saskatchewan time), Monday, May 4 to Thursday May 7, 2026. The training will be held using Zoom. A link and password will be sent out to participants upon registration.

This training qualifies for:

  • 15 hours for Continuing Professional Development credits (4.5 hours of Ethics credits) with the Law Society of Saskatchewan
  • 16 ADRIC Continuing Education & Engagement (CEE) credits to persons with a Q or C Med designation. Also approved for 16 hours of training for persons applying for a Q. Med designation.
  • 15 hours for Continuing Professional Development credits with Law Society of British Columbia
  • Alberta, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, and Yukon lawyers: consider including this course as a CPD learning activity in your annual Continuing Professional Development Plan

The training is delivered by Crystal Giesbrecht and Jess Hoover.

Crystal Giesbrecht has served as the Director of Research and Communications at PATHS since January 2011. Crystal completed her PhD in Justice Studies at the University of Regina in 2024. She conducts research relating to intimate partner violence and publishes her work in peer-reviewed journals.

Jess Hoover has been working with PATHS since October 2023, serving as the Digital Learning Specialist. Jess has a background in education and working with children who have experienced IPV and family violence.

PATHS staff have served as Expert Advisory Panel members for the Canadian Femicide Observatory for Justice and Accountability’s (CFOJA), as panelists for Saskatchewan’s current Domestic Violence Death Review, and sit on the Multi-Sectoral Review Committee for Clare’s Law.
