PATHS is undertaking a research project to document the experiences of survivors of intimate partner violence in Saskatchewan when interacting with the legal system. We are conducting two surveys:
1. For women in Saskatchewan who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, violence or abuse from an intimate partner and have had contact with the legal system (including police, criminal and family court, family dispute resolution, and child protection).
2. For service providers in Saskatchewan who work with victims/survivors who have experienced violence or abuse from an intimate partner and have had contact with the legal system.
The survey for survivors is estimated to take between 20 and 60 minutes of your time, depending on your experiences and how much you choose to share. We ask you to make a cup of tea and begin the survey when you are in a safe and comfortable space. Please note that the survey asks questions about your experiences when interacting with the legal system after experiencing violence/abuse. It is possible that you may find topics or questions in the survey difficult or upsetting. The survey includes multiple choice questions, as well as open-ended text boxes for you to share examples. We welcome you to share as much (or as little) as you like.
The survey for service providers is estimated to take between 15 and 40 minutes of your time. The survey includes multiple choice questions, as well as open-ended text boxes for you to share examples. We welcome you to share as much (or as little) as you like.
