Supporting Survivors at the Intersection of Domestic Violence & Problematic Substance Use
Savanna Belitski is a Registered Social Worker in Saskatchewan with six years of experience in the gender-based violence field. Her work supporting survivors motivated her to pursue a Masters of Social Work thesis focused on combined programming to support survivors of domestic violence experiencing co-occurring problematic substance use. Informed by interviews with professionals from across Canada, her research explores the specific motivations, theoretical approaches, policies, successes, and barriers in implementing combined programming for this population. This webinar provides a detailed description of these findings and offers actionable recommendations for agencies and professionals interested in improving available supports for a population deserving of specialized, evidence-based care.
